10 of the Most Popular CS:GO Skins
One of the biggest parts of Counter Strike: Global Offensive isn’t anything to do with the actual gameplay - it’s the skins on the guns and knives that people use in-game.
Looking through the marketplace for CS:GO Skins, there is a massive selection of different gun skins out there, with a huge variety of prices. Some skins can even cost hundreds of dollars.
But CS:GO isn’t the only one; other games have similar marketplaces, such as Rocket League with its new cases and integrated trading system, and the classic Team Fortress 2, with its massive market for in-game hats.
Ever wondered which skins are the most popular in CS:GO? Well, here are 10 of them - let us know in the comments what your favourite CSGO skin is!
1. StatTrak™ AK-47 | Vulcan
The StatTrak Vulcan AK-47 is a massively sought-after choice in the CS:GO skin world. StatTrak items are very special within CS:GO, considering they do as the name says: they track stats for the guns as you’re using them. AK-47s are massive as well, due to it being possibly the most used gun alongside the M4A4, as they’re essentially the standard guns for the two different sides in the game: Terrorist and Counter-terrorist.
2. AWP | Dragon Lore
The AWP is expensive in-game, and even more expensive with regard to skins. Being the main sniper rifle in the game, people clamour for the AWP and it’s one-hit kill capabilities. The AWP Dragon Lore skin isn’t massively popular in terms of ownership, but in terms of sheer desire it becomes a legendary skin that would cost somebody a fair amount to pick up.
3. AK-47 | Redline
Another AK-47, the Redline is a hugely popular choice, even without StatTrak, due to its design. A non-StatTrak, non-factory version is rather cheap as far as AK-47 skins go, tallying up to just a few dollars or pounds - a role in its popularity, no doubt.
4. Glock-18 | Fade
The design is rather simple in style, though it has spawned one of the more popular guns on the market - the G18 Fade. It’s a simple design that stands out, and it’s also used on one of the more popular pistol choices in the game, being a standard choice right out of the gate during a match. This gun costs a pretty penny on the CSGO skin marketplace, so you’ll only see dedicated users or incredibly lucky crate openers with this gun in-game.
5. Karambit | Marble Fade
The first knife in this list, the Karambit is a special type of one, altering the one you start with in the game. It’s a much different design, and is another type of weapon that you’ll always see in Youtube videos and Twitch streams due to its design. The Karambit Marble Fade is one of the more popular Karambit skins, while also steering away from the extremely massive prices that you’ll see for the real high-end Karambit skins.
6. AWP | Asiimov
The AWP’s popularity means that there will have to be a few on this list, including the Asiimov model. Named after the legendary sci-fi author, you’ve probably seen this in any Youtube videos or Twitch streams of CSGO players using the AWP. It’s a rather sleek design that really stands out among the others. Similar to the Redline AK-47, this doesn’t cost a great deal when compared to other top-of-the-range skins for the AWP, with it being much more of a common skin.
7. M4A4 | Howl
Another one of the immediate starter choices within the top-tier guns, the M4A4 is the first port-of-call for players on the Counter-Terrorist side of a match. The M4A4 Howl is absolutely one of the most popular choices on the blue side, even with it’s glaring red design.
8. AK-47 | Elite Build
Another AK? Well, the Elite Build warrants its own place on the list, considering its genuine popularity. It’s more of a gateway into the world of skins, considering it’s extremely low price when compared to a few others on this list - a Factory New StatTrak Elite Build AK-47 will only set you back around $10, with lesser versions, such as non-StatTrak models, costing you less than a pack of sweets.
9. Desert Eagle | Blaze
Though it looks like one of Guy Fieri’s signature shirts, the Blaze Desert Eagle is one of the more popular choices for a widely loved gun, due to its one-hit kill potential with a headshot. The skin itself absolutely stands out, though it’s certainly one of the pricier options when it comes to pistols in the game.
10. M4A1-S Cyrex
Closing out this list, we’ve got the M4A1-S Cyrex skin. Though a lesser-used option when compared to other bigger choices in the game, the M4A1-S (silenced) is a great option, with the Cyrex skin offering a lovely red and white trim to the standard black theme. It’s also a bit on the cheaper side, with a Factory New version of this gun costing around $10 - very decent for a skin in this game.
